ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
Beginning in mid-December, 2017, Yates Engineering Services (YES) was enlisted to assist Power of Design Group (POD) as a subcontractor on behalf of Crown Castle International Corporation (CCI) for a Fiber to the Node Project in the City of Shelbyville, Kentucky (Louisville area). CCI is a large-scale Network Operations Carrier which primarily provides small cell and fiber solutions for wireless carrier, businesses, tech companies, and governments.
The specific purpose of this project was to perform a redesign of aerial routes throughout the town in order to circumvent poles which were unsuitable for fiber attachment but had been included in the original design and producing full construction prints for this redesign. YES was also charged with managing pole attachment requests for newly fielded poles and obtaining all necessary construction permits from City, County, and Commonwealth authorities.
All construction for this project was completed in October 2018, marking the third project successfully completed in the POD/YES partnership since mid-2016. YES brings extensive fiber optic engineering expertise to this partnership, complementing POD’s strong background in structural engineering, land surveying, and site acquisition.
